Metamorph (Live)

The Meanjin (Brisbane) based ensemble play an eclectic repertoire of original tunes & songs.
They love to explore the connections, similarities & differences between Indian, Arabic, Latin, Eastern European & jazz musics.
There are overlaps & differences in harmony, rhythm & tonalities. Unexplored territory & fresh sounds. New paths for improvisation & collaboration.
A truly multicultural fusion.
Live, their show is flexible to suit any budget, from a solo beats gig to a large production with international guests. Pre-Covid, they held a weekly residency at Doo-Bop in Brisbane & played the Brisbane Jazz Club.
The typical line-up has a rhythm section of Steve Francis on drums, Luis Manuel Basulto on percussion, plus Des Reid on bass, guitar & electronics. Peta Leigh Wilson plays keys, Darren MacPherson plays saxes & flute
